Tafod

In the above image an unclothed lady is brandishing a tafod logo. Tafod is the Welsh word for tongue. It is the symbol of Cymdeithas Yr Iaith Gymraeg (the Welsh Language Society). The designer of the red tongue logo was writer and former nuclear scientist Owain Owain. He came up with the design in the 1960s. Quite why the lady is in a state of undress, I'm not sure - maybe it was just the zeitgeist. It's a good picture, though, and a fine example of radical naked Wales.
